HONDA CB100 Repair Guide

1983 honda cb1000c

When troubleshooting a Honda CB100 first start with the basics. These simple trials can work for any engine. All engines need three basic things to run fuel, spark and air. These simple things can cause your Honda CB100 to not start up or run poorly.

1983 honda cb1100f

First start off with the fuel Withdraw the hose off the tank and make sure the fuel is flowing properly. Some bikes will have to turn the fuel selector to prime, not on, or fuel will not flow.

honda cb100 carb kit

Take a flashlight and look down into the tank, is the fuel varnished or is there dirt in the tank? Older yamaha yamaha Honda CB100 had a problem with tanks oxidizing inside and would plug the screen up inside the tank. Fuel delivery may still be a trouble but we will come back to that later.

honda cb1000 custom motorcycle

Next Remove the spark plugs, you may need to Withdraw the tank to reach them. Inspect every spark plug as you take them out. All the spark plugs should look the same. If a plug looks white colored, that cylinder may be (lean) and not getting enough fuel.

honda cb100 for sale

If you have a plug that looks wet and black, that cylinder may getting too much fuel (rich) or not sparking good. Withdraw all the spark plugs and snap the plugs back into their wires.

honda cb100 carburetor diagram

Set the spark plugs on the engine so that they can ground themselves. Crank the motorcycle over and watch the plugs for sparks, preferably somewhere dark. Make sure you look at all the plugs to make sure they are all sparking.

2012 honda cbr 1000rr

If one spark looks down check the wire and plug, if old or worn replace them. If their is no spark the coil may be bad.If you have any test equipment such as an ohm meter, you can find out what the resistance reading should be for your bikes coils.

2011 honda cb1100f

This way you will know for sure if the coils are o.k. If the ignition system looks fine move on to the carburetors. First, if the motorcycle has not been maintained recently (a problem in itself) make sure the carbs are synchronized. To do this you need a vacuum gauge made for this. Withdraw the small rubber plug located ‘tween the carbs and the cylinder.

honda cb100 carb kit

Attach the gauge and take the readings from for each one cylinder. Replace the caps when not measuring or it won’t run right. Correct the throttle screw or linkage for that carb until they all read close to one another. Refer back to inspecting the spark plugs. If one piston chamber looked lean or rich check all hoses for cracks and air leaks. If the Honda CB100 has not been run in awhile the carbs may be (gummed up). Remove the float bowl off the bottom of the carb.

honda cb100 engine parts

Look in the bowl for dark varnish looking gas. If the fuel looks dark you will probably have to Remove the pilot and main jets and carefully run a wire through the center hole to clean them out. Be careful to not bend the float as the height needs to be correct to run well Also. Check that the small needle attached to the float ‘tween the pivot place, is moving up and down.

honda cb100n for sale

If it doesn’t move smoothly the carb will not fill up with gas or will run low as your driving down the road. Make sure you check the battery As Well, if they become weak the ignition system won’t have enough power to keep the motorcycle running swimmingly. If you still haven’t found anything make sure you valve lash has been checked at the correct mileage intervals. If not this can cause many problems with the way it runs.

honda cb100 supersport

As Well you can screw a compression gauge into the spark plug holes and check that they are within 5% 10% of for each one other. If one is way down you have a serious problem either with the pistons, bore or valves. This should be a good start to finding a general problem with your yamaha Honda CB100.

Land Rover Discovery 3 Workshop Manual

Land Rover Discovery 3 Workshop Manual

Land Rover gave its news Discovery a minor facelift along with relatively low-key updates. Already on its third generation, Land Rover’s highly versatile luxury SUV gets a more powerful and highly efficient engine that goes well with a new exterior identity and a stately interior. The model that it is replacing boasts of more than 100 international accolades under its belt, so much is expected from the Landrover Discovery 3. However, Land Rover confidently said that it is up to the challenge. Let’s find out why. Land Rover came up with two engine variants for its new Discovery line up. First up is the LR-TDV6 3.0 litre twin-turbo diesel capable of generating 180kW of power and 600Nm of torque. It gobbles 8.9 percent less fuel as it is now rated at 9.21/ 100km on the combined cycle. It is also more eco-friendly with an 8.3 percent cut in CO2 emissions. The LR-TDV6 just spews 243g/km. Revving up the power, the 5.0 litre naturally-aspirated V8 punches out 276kW of power and 510Nm of torque, with fuel economy rated at 13.9/100km and CO2 emissions pegged at 326g/km. The revised engines are paired to a new six-speed adaptive shift automatic gearbox. The interior has been completely redesigned and has a more premium look and feel than its predecessor. It features a modified dash, leather trimmed centre console, new electric leather seats, and a host of new amenities that include metallic air vents, gear knob and speaker trims; a HD radio; a new five-camera ‘surround’ system for easier parking; an audio-video DVD navigation system; and a premium audio package composed of 14 speaker stereo, a CD player, input for iPod, an aux input socket for MP3/USB, and a subwoofer. Push button start and keyless entry are standard across the range. Land Rover also gave the new Discovery an extensive upgrade to the chassis and suspension systems. The steering has been revised, larger 360mm brakes have been installed and refinements have been made to the Terrain Response system. The British automaker also made notable improvements on its renowned Hill Descent Control (HDC) system by integrating a Gradient Release Control feature. This means that the system will kick in automatically when HDC is activated and controls acceleration and brake pressure on steep declines. Additionally, Land Rover fitted its new Discovery with the innovative Trailer Stability Assist to reduce engine torque and automatically initiate light braking while towing to minimize towing-related mishaps. Safety-wise, standard across the new Discovery range are dual driver and front passenger, driver and front passenger side and head, and rear passenger head airbags; Electronic differential control, Emergency Brake Assist, Hydraulic rear brake boost, Hill Descent Control, improved Understeer Control and Roll Stableness Control. Other features include All-terrain Anti-Lock Braking System, Electronic Parking Brake, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Dynamic Stability Control and Electronic Traction control. Overall, the new Land Rover Discover is the perfect car and a superb SUV that can put other fancy SUVs to shame. It has the perfect mix of features and enough power that can make every trip feel less like a cruise on the moon’s surface and more of a smooth and comfortable ride.
